The Domaine Ménard-Gaborit dates back to 1734 and the existence of vineyards around the Moulin de la Minière is confirmed by Napoleon III's 1857 Land Registry.
In 1914 the Domaine moved into the modern era with the construction of the aging cellar - critical for quality Muscadet production. The first stating bottling for the Ménard family came in 1947 by the great-grandfather of Philippe and Theirry. At the time the vineyard consisted of about 20 hectares of vines.
Further expansion on the families vineyard holdings came in 2001 with the purchase 23 hectares in neighboring communes. Today, the Domaine consists of 73 hectares managed by brothers Philippe and Thierry Ménard, the 5th generation, who take pride in continuing the family's long legacy in Muscadet.
