Today in the capable hands of Alexia and Pierre Boyer, the estates of Château Milon and Clos de la Cure represent more than seven generations of viticultural heritage. This viticultural saga begins with the Arteau family in the 12th century; François Arteau (direct ancestor of Pierre) being mentioned in the archives of the Jurade of Saint-Émilion.
Originally a property of 13.5 hectares, and the purchase of a further 4.5 hectares in 2008, situated on a superb gravel terroir, increased the area of the estate to 18 hectares. In 2010, a parcel of 56 ares (1.38 acres) in Pomerol was added to the vineyards of the estate. Situated on the exceptional terroir of this prestigious appellation, Clos 56 was born.
The domain works a vineyard of high viticultural quality and treats it with all the respect due to a Grand Cru: an ecological approach to the running of the estate; carefully controlled yields and a vinification and aging process that brings out the best in the terroir.
