Château de Montfrin

Rhône

From a 100 acre mixed-farming family property, Jean René de Fleurieu and Benjamin Béguin, began redesigning the lie of the land. And through their attentiveness Chateau de Montfrin is the recipient of various awards every year. Amid this bountiful countryside, Jean René has

bestowed the estate with a touch of color and instills shades of modesty, originality and warmth into all he produces.

The estate comprises 170 acres of live trees and 200 acres of vineyard drawing their sustenance from the intensely gravelly soil once part of the Rhone river bed. This estate includes the ‘Moulin des Ombres’ (“Mill of Shadows”) for olive oil and ‘Cave des Captives’ an adjoining winery. Adhering to the standards of organic farming permits this spirit to extend across this land of great biodiversity.

Ideally located on naturally terraced hillsides on the southeastern extremity of the Rhone, the Montfrin wine estate is one of a few to produce wine of five different appellations; Côtes du Rhône, Costières de Nimes, Coteaux du pont du Gard and vin de Pays d’Oc.
